It was gathered that the President met with the permanent secretries few minutes ago where he personally informed them of their termination from their duty post. About no fewer than 17 permanent secretries were affected. No reason has been given about the decision as analysts see this move as part of the President’s plans to shrink the ministries to cut overhead costs for his government.
Over the last months, the Permanent Secretaries had been holding several meetings with the President, an indication that they were giving the President their last briefs.
This is coming ahead of the swearing in of the ministers tomorrow.
