Preparing for the Varsity Match between Oxford and Cambridge on December 10, women’s rugby team from Oxford removed their clothes to raise money for charity with a naked calendar.
Despite the cold weather, the players wearing only their socks and boots in a series rugby-related poses to convey the atmosphere of the real game.
According to the club’s president Helen Lamb, the 2016 calendar is all about body positivity and proceeds made from its sales will go to a charity organisation supporting those affected by eating disorders or difficulties with food, weight, and shape.

The shoot did take some time: we wanted the photographs to be technically accurate from a rugby point of view, in addition to underpinning the important messages we want to spread on behalf of OURFC Woman and Beat.
The message that Beat promotes really fits with the positive body image and confidence that we promote at OURFC Women. Our calendar highlights the variety of women that play rugby and we hope it will encourage and inspire more women to try out rugby. This is not the first time Oxford University women’s rugby team are using their bodies to promote the sports and raise money for charity. Their previous effort, in 2014, raised several thousand pounds for Mind Your Head, Oxford’s mental health awareness campaign.
